I see that wattle aviaries are advertising white plumheads as a coloured and spilt pair for $1000. Does anyone know about the development of this mutation?

Cheers Ian

Don't know anything about the development of the mutation but there were 3 coloured cocks and splits for sale at the recent Orange Bird sale.

Nice looking bird but price is a bit steep.

I believe these would be Joe Gaffa's birds. He has them pretty well established so far as I'm aware. If anyone is interested let me know and I'll pass on his details.

Would agree in total Sam, I seen his first pair about 4yr ago. Very different.

Sounds interesting. I assume from the combination being offered that they are recessive?

From the picture the colour remains on the head and the eye remains dark. So not an albino. Would have to be classed as a dilute then I guess. Thanks.
