Headed down to Melbourne last weekend in the quest to improve my gouldian stock.
Had the pleasure of meeting AMCA26 and GouldianPaul and was also lucky enough to secure some of their blue and split blue goulds. Didn't get to meet GaryH this time unfortunately but was lucky to still take some birds back....maybe next time im down.
Just like to say a quick thanks for the kindness and the birds...definitely worth the drive and I also picked up a few more tips for Gouldian breeding (can never have enough info).
It was also good to meet people interested in sharing their own ways of doing things and also how the aviaries are set up.
Too many times have I had to deal with breeders up my way that deal in maccas carpark or in a garage which usually results in "ill pass on the birds thanks".
All in all a good trip got some top birds and met some top blokes.
Also I can kind of see the appeal in Melbourne when compared to Sydney...and ill leave it at that before I am fined for treason.
Thought I would share some photos
Bring on the breeding season!
Thanks Melbourne Gouldian Breeders
