Hi all

Thought I would post a long *censored*.

I have a fellow in Melbourne who would like to buy some of my siskins.

He is a little put off by the freighting (as would I be) so I thought I would just put it out there....if anyone from Syd/Wollongong is heading to Melb and wants to help me and the buyer out that would be great.

I believe he is a member of this forum also.

I am sure we could work out a deal either cash of finch related.

Thanks

I am heading to Wollongong on Monday but only coming back to Canberra but if someone is doing Canberra to Melb instead I would help get them to that person. I guess a lot to consider but I am happy to be of some service if that makes it possible

If you cant get anyone he may have to try freight. Sydney to Melb is a pretty easy run not many chances of a stuff up and only short.

I'm going to Sydney airport early tomorrow (Sat) morning - if you can get them to me today I'll drop them off if it helps.
Cheers,
Sam

Thanks Sam

Ill let this guy know freight is his only option.

I thought I would ask as in the past I have returned from melb and canberra with birds for others.

Thanks admin for deleting the not so helpful comments including my blunt response.

I never get why people on here never miss a chance to take pot shots at others. That is one of the main reasons young ppl dont get into the hobby or if they do they get limited and varied advice.

On a fishing forum when I asked dumb questions about black fishing instead of criticism a bloke pm me and took me out to show me what to do. He supplied the bait the rods and hour lift to the rock ledge. Now I know how do do it and have a skill for life. That's what forums should be about.

and an (albeit lame) joke can at times be horribly misconstrued as an attack when none was intended.

:sorry:

I think freight is great really I mean the birds are in a dark safe box and the travel isn't long. To me the only down side is the change of hands everywhere and you can't be sure how well the box is looked after but they are well aware that live animals are in it. I have received birds via freight about 20 times now and every time it has been successful and the people at the airport always helpful... here in Canberra anyway

And I thought, mostly, we play nice. Yes the odd spot of "a joke too far" or plain stupid. But lets all continue to do the great helpful stuff this forum gets it;s cludoes for. And good on those making seriously helpful offers.
