Hi Finch Lovers! Brand new to the forum as I'd like to rehome an adorable little Gouldian for free. His name is Mercutio, he's about 4 to 5 years old, has perfect pitch and plays well with others. If you click on the link below (no attachment privileges yet) you can see he's very handsome and healthy! He's also suddenly lonely and sad...
His last companion (a cordon) passed away of old age last week and he really needs to make some new friends. And a lady friend especially, he tells me. He has some moves, this little fella.
Mercutio is used to a heated aviary in Brisbane shared with up to 12 finches (the good years) down to 1 other finch (last year or so). We'll wind down the aviary after that - it has been a wonderful journey. I know the Gouldians sell for a fair bit, but he's a priceless little guy and I just want him to go to a really good home with lots of love and treats.
Brisbanites - if you think you have the perfect lady and a bunch of good mates for him please reply below with a pic of your awesome aviary - I'll get him to choose which one suits his style.

Hi
I would put in an application except him being in a heated setup would mean he probably wouldn't like my au natural aviary

Hi Redhead
How did you go with placing your little guy? I have a my favourite male inside too and unfortunately I expect his companion will be going soon. She has become very grey around the eyes recently. I'll be looking for another female once the breeding season is over and the young ones start displaying their colours. Several years ago I placed a canary near the breeding cages and all the young ones copied the canary call albeit much quieter. It's beautiful to hear them still sing the song several generations on. cheers . . Danny
