Hi Sime,Sime wrote:Cheers, on my dog walk, there's a large patch of Dandelions, will collect some and try.
Just make sure to check if that area has been sprayed with anything- I don't collect from my local park, as they spray with pesticides every 6 months or so.
I have been trying to get my Finches to eat different veggies, carrot, sweet potato, spinach. I saw a post that recommended a canary to show them the way. Well my Finches were not impressed when I put the canary in it was as if I had let a Hawk loose in the cage. I will monitor the situation but if it does not improve I will have to remove the canary, my nesting birds even left their nests they were so scared.

Red Faced Parrot Finches would have done the same thing as a Canary...steve wrote:I have been trying to get my Finches to eat different veggies, carrot, sweet potato, spinach. The Bitterness of Poor Quality Remains Long after the Sweetness of Cut Price is Forgotten
Red faced/headed parrot finches are scarce here at the moment, I have been looking for 2 pairs for awhile now. I watched the birds this morning and they have settled down a bit so perhaps the Canary will work, he is a glutton anyway, eats the whole day. Thanks
