Hi All,
I have a water feature with a recirculating pump in my aviary.
I have a tap timer that flushes it out every day with fresh water, problem is that it keeps getting mossy, any suggestions to stop or at least slow down the rate of moss growing.
Birds don't find it a problem I only clean it every month or so, the birds actually eat the moss.
Birds also love it they bath in it every day and on hot days several times a day.
Just want too try and keep it clean...ish.
Cheers

Watch this video from the FSA. It turns out moss isnt such a bad thing as long as the water itself is clean https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OSzOjfaEMTo

There are pruducts that can be used in fish ponds that don't affect the fish so should be ok for birds to drink but i think you answered your own question in saying they eat the algae which infact is good for them.
If you don't want to do that,as said above will slow the algae down but wont get rid of it. Craig
