can some one please tell me what age will young Gouldian breed thanks jack

Hi Jack, welcome to the forum.

Gouldians tend to start breeding as daylight hours start getting shorter, that coincides with the wet season the the north of Australia. Breeders tend to put nest boxes in to the aviary between late December and late February depending in individual preference.

Young gouldians should be going through the moult at the moment and will look pretty as a picture come mid December.

If you leave young gouldians in with their parents they will breed before they moult,i have had them breed totally uncoloured but it's not advisable. Craig

thanks I will remove the young gouldians to a new avery they are only 4 months old

I have been told gouldians will breed at 9 months then 14 months old not sure when to pair them up thanks jack
