New Finch Club for NSW

After consultation with some fellow finch enthusiasts over the last couple months it has become apparent that this region, mid north coast of NSW which is a finch breeders paradise, lacks a specialist finch club.

It is proposed that a meeting of interested finch people will be held on Sunday the 08FEB15 @ 10am in Port Macquarie.

We are looking for both New and Old bird keepers to attend this meeting. This will determine if there is enough people interested from Forster/Tuncurry/Taree/Port Macquarie/Kempsey/Coffs Harbour regions in which to form a viable collective of alike minded people to start the Mid North Coast Finch Society.

It would be greatly appreciated that AFF members who live or know of friends with finches and softbills that live with in this region please PM or call Allan 0402001927 prior to the meeting date, 08FEB15.

I will explain to the people that dont know about you are referring to about the wrong side of the range. The Tamworth to Port Macquarie road, Oxley Highway, has about 100km of tight winding narrow road up over the great dividing range between Wauchope and Walcha. At best in perfect weather during the day light hours can be a white knuckle experience to drive on. Particular when you encounter the semi trailers, caravaners, motorbikes and logging trucks all driving along this dangerous road.

very true wagga.... I used to be one of those reckless bikers a few years(decades) back!
it's either awesome or treacherous depending on your mindset....
would still meet ya halfway for the right bird!
(was always gingers creek-midway through the bends).

good luck with the meeting....trying to come up with an "innovative" club name....

maybe just stick with mid north coast....too many ales....or not enough.
