Hi all,
I was just wondering if I can use my Moxi Plus to treat mites/scaly feet on my parents chickens? Can I apply it directly to the back of the neck? and if yes, what dosage?
Cheers,

Arthur he did recommend moxidecton but i didn't take much notice of the dose,if it's one to two drops on the back of the neck for a finch you could probably up it to ten for a chook. Craigarthur wrote:Dr Harry on 'House & Garden' last night on this topic
Wife and grand-kids watched it but I wasn't paying much attention . .
You could probably catch a repeat

Turns out mum watched this, which is why she asked me about it (she missed the bit about dosage).

Dose of Moxidectin Plus for Chickens is 1ml per 2kg bird.
Modidectin Plus should be given orally only as the praziquantel may interfere with skin absorption.
The nesting boxes and coop also need to be sprayed with permethrin spray as the mites often hide in the surrounding woodwork.
If it is lice that the chooks have and not mites then they will need to be sprayed with an insecticide for birds as oral medications do not work for lice.
