Hi, I went away for 3 days over the weekend, and at some stage my batteries died on my timer on the tap so my birds went without water for a while - luckily they were ok when I got home. I just want to know - how long can finches go without water? Daytime temperature is about 25 degrees at present. Thanks.

From what I've heard it really depends from species to species e.g A bird that lives in a dry and arid climate like the golden song sparrow can last without water a lot longer then say a parrot finch.
Not sure how true all that is but I've been told by a few guys this is the case, which somewhat makes sense.
Not game enough to test the theory but....

I always have those bottle type drippers when I go away just in case something like that happens....Masterfincher wrote:Hi, I went away for 3 days over the weekend, and at some stage my batteries died on my timer on the tap so my birds went without water for a while - luckily they were ok when I got home.
