What's going on with my canaries? It's really cold (for Perth) and they're singing, flirting and carrying bits of grass around. They look like they're ready to breed.

Noticed a little bit of early whistling happening with mums lot when I was over there yesterday too. Maybe they are confused by the late arrival of any really cold weather into thinking we are not going to have winter?

Yes Finchbreeder, it must be confusing the weather we've been having. Hopefully these last couple of cold days might change their body clocks but this morning even my old male is singing. Would you change the time that you put nests in?
