Hello, great site loads of info.
I am currently in the construction phase of a planted aviary 6m(l) x 4m(w) x3.5m(h) after not keeping birds since my late teens. I live in Central Victoria near Bendigo. In my teens I kept many species of finches and a few small parrots. Can't wait to get back into breeding finches.

Welcome to the forum. Have you decided what birds will occupy the new avairy?

hi all, thank you everyone for the warm welcome.

Re birds, choosing is tough so many species. In the past I kept and bred, gouldians, longtails, gf parrot finch, RcCb, and stars all of which bred easily in a large planted, fully covered aviary in Melb. (I like the idea of specialising, time will tell).
I would like a trio grenadier weavers, 1 pr gouldians, 2pr diamond sparrows, 1 pr Rccb, and 1pr OB.
