Figured I would continue on from last years post on highs and lows. Might stick with goals for 2016 for this one.

Top goals for 2016 are

1) Acquire two male linnies to add to my breeding stock. breeding from them is going to be a stretch goal as my young hens wont breed in 2016.

2) Continue progress with the red zebs. Got some nice colours with really good size at the moment. I want to see this one through.

3) Considering Himalayan greenfinches. They seem to have a temperament similar to goldfinches in an aviary which is not too dissimilar to siskins.

4) Acquire and breed red strawberry finches. Would like to run 2 colonies of 3 pairs.
Breeding Project 2020-2025.
agate mosaic canaries, agate yellow mosaic canaries, red zebs, self bengos and goldfinch mules.

Breed the Red Zebs. And some Blue Goulds would be nice. Just all round have my birds happy healthy and breeding.

Goals for 2016 would be

Breed from the pintailed whydahs. Cock bird isn't colouring up fully this season

Aquire Rufous backed mannikins. Beautiful little birds and I miss them dearly

Try for better results from my weavers. I have had a lot of eggs on the floor this year. Especially from the Madagascar weavers. Grenadiers are starting up now so hoping for similar results to last year.

Find some comoro (forest fodies) hens for my spare boy

Meet and greet more breeders. My current work roster has left me a little isolated and having to leave the avicultural clubs I was a part of

Lots of happy little babies

After a less than wonderful 2015 with both birds and life in general I am hoping for a more settled 2016.

Breeding wise I will hope for overall improvement with perhaps breeding Melbas as a starting point.

Number one priority will be to find the money, time and motivation to finally build the insect room that has been planned for the last two years. If I can completed that build I am hoping by this time next year to have started the ground work for another aviary (That will be my post for 2017 goals)

Merry Christmas and Happy Prosperous New Year to all

Regards

high

I think it will be interesting to see the outcome from what is produced from the high volume of possible lime blue split gouldians

low

high volume of fawn diamond sparrows being bred and no-where to place them.
