Are any breeders experiencing their gouldians not breeding, I put my nests in on Feb 1 and my two pair have shown no interest.

Maybe it's still too hot up your way, Feb is a bit early in my opinion, try the end of March as well as beak turning black on the hens to be ready for breeding. Also feed them plenty of seeding grasses,soaked/sprouted seed, egg shells to condition them. Craig

I still have a couple of pairs which haven't clicked yet too, most pairs have started though. Compatability is not always an instant thing just because its theoretically the start of their breeding season. I will watch how things go for at least another few weeks with my slower pairs before I think about doing anything to change things.

One of my aviaries with Gouldians is going well, all pairs are breeding, the other aviary hasn't had any yet - I put it down to 2 weeks of storms and lots of rain, and their nesting site got pretty soaked. They seem to be sitting now the weather is better. Good luck

Looking but not laying here too. But we have been the hotest place in the west once in the past 3 days. So I don't think I would want to be sitting in this weather if I was them either.

I've got one pair who abandoned nest 3 days before eggs due to hatch , put it down to first time breeders.
Another pair which tries to nest in a stainless steel cup, and has shown no interest once I removed it.
Mixed bag really

My hens are late starters this year as they have only a slight touch of grey to their beaks. I just check their nest boxes and found 3 nests of eggs , numbering 9 / 6 / 5 eggs, with the other 3 hens looking like as well. I hope this year will a good year after last years dismal results.
