A couple of my young Orange Breasts fledged today and i watched with amazement as both parents fairly gave it to any other bird that came near the young ones,or even the nest with the others in it.They showed,as they say,no fear and drove other birds much bigger than them off.Reminded me of my fox terrier who thought it was a doberman. These are their first young ones,so maybe they are over protective, but funny to watch.

It is funny watching OBs try it on against bigger foes when they have young to protect. Pretty much all bluff though it is. Awesome little birds very much taken for granted due to their common status.

Totally agree, just a nice little bird to have in the aviary.Full of character and doesn't matter even if they are cheapies.
