Hi All,
Currently I breed AY gouldians and live in Brisbane.
I'm purchasing gouldians at the end of the year.
When I first purchased gouldians I was happy taking on most birds, but as the hobby has grown I've become a lot more selective. I have atoned for my initial "mistakes" by getting some great AY birds.
I'm looking to get some good quality stock from reputable (and recommended) breeders.
I will be purchasing 4 pair of Pure Normals - these are pretty hard to come by without any mutations what-so-ever!!!
I will also purchase 2 pair of Australian Recessive Dilute.
I'm selective in that I only want BHPB birds (including with my mutations). I'd also prefer to know there are no WB genes (or other) in the stock.
I'm also happy paying freight and purchasing birds from multiple breeders because I know plenty specialise in just one type! This includes the purchase of normals from multiple places (to get some additional blood-lines).
Your suggestions would be appreciated!!!
Cheers,
Brenton

I think you scared off all the members with the word- QUALITY! Unfortunately I can't help you with the Normals. Now if you were after Gouldian mutation crosses I have freighted out close on 70 of those feathery inmates in the past 10 days.

Today absolute pure Gouldians are getting hard to get. They are out there but few can guarantee 100%.
While I am not a Gouldian devotee as many I do have an absolute pure strain here. All I have are normal Black Headed
which came from MF. I am happy to keep the one strain and I still prefer the 3 normal phases than the yellow based birds.
Sadly if there was ever a serious exercise to release Gouldians back into the wild few could be considered because of the
possibility of a mutation. While I am sure a yellow mutation would soon be taken it would be sad to see white breasted flying around.

Do you sell uncoloured Gouldians at this time of year?$bill wrote:I think you scared off all the members with the word- QUALITY! Unfortunately I can't help you with the Normals. Either that or a lot of unsold Gouldians from the previous year?
