Some of you will remember my DIY project
incubator viewtopic.php?f=84&t=3284
well here are some first images of the new chicks.
We have had good success 5 isa brown eggs 4 hatched so far
2 bantam eggs, one hatched the other one died in the shell, he was fully formed and
cracked away most of the shell but I think he was too exhausted to go on.

Diane
If they grow up to be hens we probably will keep them, being our first.
If they are roosters then we may look to sell/giveaway.
We have been lucky with these and will be incubating some more later on.

Little small at the moment, they'd get stuck between my teeth
Can't eat what you give a name at our house. Our sons named a stray lamb we took in
and I reckon these will get names too.

My eldest son wanted to introduce the lamb to George Foreman (The grill that is)

The incubator went really well.
My wife want to try some ducks at a later date.
I am pleased with it's performance, there were also
some minor spats between my sons as to whose turn it was to roll them.
I think also, our rooster has plenty of lead in his pencil. ;)
