I agree, i would probably sit outside the aviary until it showed its face and put a bit of lead behind its left eye or get a snake catcher in. I'm petrified of snakes,it's one of the reasons i didn't go to Cape York as its crawling with Coastal Eastern Tiapans  :o Craig

Put a couple of these in . .

This bloke would eat a 3 foot snake ( :worm: ) for breakfast and still have room for cornflakes

A good spot to see them is at water holes bird watching all day. I had a taipan appear from no where it must have been at my feet for ages. Then it appeared in front of my feet from the grass at the waters edge. A few of those taipans came at us, one came at us when I stomped my foot. Most took of once they sighted you though. I think we were in the thick grass areas were you would most likley see them, and near water most of the time.

We met two families travelling together. One guy loved snakes, at night the families would go out and catch them and take photos. The kids lined up holding a 2.4 metre scrub python one night. another night Dad with a green tree snake wrapped around his head, He looked like a women with a green wrigling towel around her head. This guy knew how to handle wild snakes. That was in Iron Range National Park.

This trip I seen the most snakes and variety of snakes I have ever seen before it was really good to appreciate them.
