Yep it does work... but only as long as their next bath or next moult depending on the colourant used. The unsuspecting buyers get at least a day's pleasure from their gaudy new acquisition....but apparently they're as cheap as chips any way. :roll:

This is a commonly used reference in Africa by bird watchers
There are so many little birds that are hard to identify so you
normally refer to them as LBJ.s Little Brown Jobs

Was not that long ago was it? that there were genuine fears for the future genetic base for species such as Cubans, RFPFs & others due to wholesale exporting of these species.
