Young Australian Dilute backs have plum coloured eyes in the nest as well so it maybe a cocktail of mutations. Craig

And a lot of inexperience (and some not so inexperienced) breeders in the "wild west" were crossing Aussie and Euro yellow indiscriminately. So lots of people bought birds being told they were one thing only to find that they were in fact a mix. Include me and my mum in that buyer group.
