Hey guys, Gordon here from Young NSW. Haven't got any finches at the moment but having had a mixed collection when I was a kid, I now 25 years later want to get back in to the finches. Hoping to get plenty of info on the different species and source some stock in the near future.

Hi Gordon, welcome to the Aussie Finch Forum. If you are restarting it is best to go with zebra finches again first because they are hardy and breed well. They also don't have to eat live food like meal worms so that's an added bonus. Second choice is society finches but they are difficult to sex. Gouldians are very sensitive and is most likely to get air sac mites. They also moult every year so might not want to start with those.
