Well i went overseas for all of July and 3 days after returning three light pied cordons fledged and two strawberry finches,i was really surprised as apparently it was freezing cold when i was gone, noticed the other pair of srawbs at the nest,so about two weeks ago four young fledged and another big smile on the face, after deliberating for weeks to refurb the bigger aviary and not do so ,three young heavy pied cordons fledged on Tuesday,so the season is of and running with diamonds in the nest as well ,how is everybody else going, cheers garyh,ps just went up to the aviaries and the first pr of light pied cordons have a nest roaring away like crazy

Congratulations. Either you have an excellent finch sitter, or leaving the birds to minimal contact is a posative for breeding.
I see from the Aussie wide weather report that Vic is slowly warming up while we in the west are staying cold, so that could be good for you.
