Probably 'just enough' . . is the answer to that
Nature's Balance and all of that
There can be no doubt that in a well run aviary, the balance is tilted well-and-truly in favour of the birds
And I do know as well . . that even with an 'apex predator' . . (albeit an aging one) . . hard at work . . . . the carpet snake, and gecko populations, seem to be faring at a little better than 'just enough' around here
