Red is their standard mix, while blue is their premium mix. The blue mix doesn't have the black oilseeds that many finches (at least mine) refuse to eat.

Agree
As well as no oilseeds (canola), the Blue contains no panorama and supposedly a higher content of red panicum and canary.

I'm fairly certain there using imported seed in there mix you might want to check as it won't sprout.

Have to disagree Mr Skeeter. Have been using it for years (Blue) and found it sprouts quite well, as a matter of fact did about a kilo yesterday. One thing though I found that the price from my supplier a couple of weeks ago went up to $45 for 20 kg bag.

i was talking to the chap from avigrain who was selling seed at the gunnadah bird sale he told me they will be using imported seed to mix with what they have left. they will not be the only ones as there is not much aussie seed around due to the drought, we are all praying for good rain fall this spring, cheers,

It's been raining here in the WA Wheatbelt for the past 10 DAYS. So we are hoping for good things.

It will be late Spring/early summer at best before any growers will be harvesting millet again.
