Not that im aware ,i spray the whole aviary with birds ,seed ,perches and feed trays still in them,cheers garyh

I wasn't thinking about the availability of Scatt, I am sorry for that.
I got some a few years ago when in Singapore and last year some from Sth Africa.

Spraying the seed, does that not affect the finches?

Wouldn’t spraying the seed affect the Finches’ health because they would be swallowing the spray? Surely it must in some way.

I dont spray the seed as such,but when spraying the aviary with a very fine spray some will drift over the seed ,never lost a bird,garyh

If you have an airsac problem you can't hang on for 6 months to change them.
Clarifying. I meant that replacing the perches regularly like this is a safe way to deter the risk of airsac mite. Did not in any way mean to suggest waiting till it was your regular perch changing and burning time to do this when you notice signs of airsac mite. Which is why, having just purchased some canarys and heard one weezing. I will now Ivamec the new birds for 5 days before releasing them. And do my avairys again at the same time, so I know that all birds go together having been fully treated.
