Double bars nest usually from 1.2 mtrs up from the floor or more. It's best to let them build their own nest although they will take over an old used nest to roost in as they are nest roosters whether they are breeding or not. In saying that they will roost in a nest box and or breed in it.

My double bars nest in a brush cylinder, 2/3 of the cylinder is filled with uprooted grasses and the top third has branches standing upright in it. The Double bars nest in that top third with their spherical shaped nest

Hi Nicko,
Mine have always built their own nest, usually in brush or cylinder, upper half of the aviary.

Cheers
Brett
