I'm interested in finding out a bit about this sale as well. Does anyone know what is usually on offer and if prices are generally good?

I was going to go last year but I got my times mixed up :? and arrived as the sellers were going in and I had to be elsewhere when the sale started. From the amount of sellers and birds it should have been a good sale.

Anyone going to this? I hope to go and do some shopping. Do you think there might be a nice selection of finches available or will it be mainly parrots?

Went today to the sale, but couldn't get there until 1200 and had to leave be 1215 :? :? Not the best, but had commitments.

Would be interested hear from anyone there at the start. Didn't seem to be that many finches for sale from what I could see. Lots of parrots mind you.

Anyway let me know what you thought :?:

Well, only bought one bird again. This time a BH WC GB gouldian hen. Saw triplea there and a few people from the local clubs. Seemed to be more parrots than finches. Prices looked about what we have posted here on the forum. Lots of people, but there was a lot of birds who would be going back home I think.

I think they opened up before the posted time too. I set off in plenty of time expecting to have to queue up to get in and when I arrived the buyers were already in the hall. One of the sellers told me he read that benching could be done till 12!
Car park was packed, had to park a couple of streets away, so the flyers in the car wouldnt have done much good  I had my badge on though. :D

I went along today. I ended up getting 2 pairs of red head Gouldians and 1 pair of Stars. The Gouldians were $40 a pair and the Stars were $25. There were some good bargains to be had but as someone mentioned there seemed to be more parrots than finches. I wish I got that pair of pink Ruddies for $35.

There were some good prices for white chested Gouldians. $30 each from memory. Also some young Diamond Firetails for $30 each which I thought was a top price. One guy was selling Gouldians for $30 a pair but I didn't really like the look of them. I got there early too and the car park was full. Had to park down the street. That hall was jam packed. One thing I didn't like was that you couldn't really choose which particular bird you wanted. When you asked for a pair the guy just went into one of the aviaries and pulled out a pair from his box, all in a hurry and no questions asked. I got the Stars first and noticed that the hen was missing feathers all down her throat. So I went back to the guy and asked him to swap her over which in all fairness he did. Everything was done in a hurry which I guess is the price you pay for cheap prices. All in all I was very happy with what I got. Interestingly I saw no double bars anywhere.

That ends my weekend shopping spree. Yesterday I got a pair of Bourkes, red-head parrot finches (gorgeous birds), yellow emblemas and 2 pairs of canaries. The aviary is fully stocked now so here's hoping for a good year to come.

The bird sale was good but it was really rushed...Why does it only go for 2 hours?
