Hi Folks,

Anyone heading to the Cessnock Sale this Saturday? Not sure how it rates as a finch sale, but i'll try and get up there and have a look. I think it runs from 10 til 2.

Cheers

Well I got up to the sale today but didn't get there til midday, still lots of people and lots of birds though.

There was still a fair number of finches there/unsold? A bit of everything but nothing partularly exotic (that i saw anyway), prices seemed fair but no real bargins. I was good and didn't buy anything.

There was however 3 particularly unsual hybreds of stars and longtails (i think thats what they were from memory)

Hi all I attended the sale also there were plenty of finches but predominantly parrots.
There was a surplus of Pink and Pied Ruddies, Gouldians, Stars.

Note worthy was a lone Blue Cap cock for 120, a pair of himilayan Greenfinchhes for 550, hen Red Hooded Siskins for 200 each as well as a couple of pairs for 350. Also saw pair of crimsons which quickly for 380 and a couple pair of cinnamon diamonds.

Just missed out by 2 seconds on a cock cutthroat so if anyone has one let me know.

Not a bad sale overall and better laid out to other sales I have been to. The birds didn't seem to move real fast though as I feel the prices were a little high.
