Hi all, my name is Cullen, and I’m relatively new to keeping finches. At the moment I keep blue faced parrot finches, emblemas, star finches, gouldians and longtails and looking to expand in the coming weeks.
Thanks

Hi and welcome to the forum :)

The shaft-tails/ longtail finches sleep in nests at night so make sure you have plenty in there for them to choose from. Most of the other birds sleep on perches so make sure the aviary is dry and draught free so the birds don't catch a cold in this weather.

Get yourself a cat trap and have it set in your backyard every night. Cats kill thousands of aviary birds every year and they will come to your place if you have an aviary.

Start growing green grass seeds now so they will be ready for the birds in spring. The following link has information about growing green grass seeds.
