Hi I saw someone who has spilt blue gouldians for sale only males. I have normal hens is it worth buying the males and breeding to the normal hens ? What would this combination produce ?

All the birds you produced would be visually normal. 25% would be split Blues. But there would be no way of telling which 25% so the exercise would be pointless.

Correct FB, not a good mating due to all young having to be test mated to a blue bird for a result. Even two split birds can produce normals, splits and blues.
If you can buy a blue hen you will breed all splits and blues.

One gene in 4 is Blue so it can't go to more than one bird in 4.

When people start including the sex of the birds it confuses everyone. When i say 25% will be split it means in both sexes, including the sex in a autosomal recessive mutation is non viable because of the mutations mode of inheritance.
Sexlinked mutations yes males and females play a role and the percentage can be used as for sexual percentage.
