Will Society finches foster my zebra finches eggs even if my society finch isn't nesting?
and does it have to be a female society finch? or can it be a male as well?
Thanks

It's unlikely that a non - breeding pair of bengalese (societys) would foster eggs. They probably would if they were breeding. any other finches with eggs at the moment?
Bangalese finches both parents sit on the eggs, so a pair is best when and where possible.

Bengalese will sit on eggs when they are not breeding. Infact a person I know who uses Bengalese alot uses two males and not a true pair.
It seems once you get the experience you are able to get them to sit on anything.
I am not infavour of non emergency fostering but that is a personal opinion.

Zebs are as capable as Bengos if not more so, to raise their own chicks in frequent and copious batches.
