I have a pair of Gouldians. They have a nest with two eggs in it but the female doesn’t go into the box. I am not sure if another finch laid one of the eggs.

The eggs were laid about 5 days ago.

They are still mating as I just witnessed it.

Should I just leave them to sort it out or take out the old eggs?

Some birds come out as soon as they hear you approching. They do not want to draw attention to their nesting by having you look for the hen or cock depending on who's turn it is to sit. So leave them be, appart from to increase their greens. And enjoy.
