I am after a recent update by anyone in the know.

In searching the literature about Gouldians, I came across a reference to a wild population of Gouldians (aviary escapees) breeding in the tops of palm trees (not sure which type of palm but assume one of the messier thatch ones). Hervey Bay was nominated as the location.

Just wondering if this was true?

If true, is the population still there and how is it going?

Asked my favourite Brissie based Biologist/Ecologist - but neither she nor her bossman had heard anything. Mind it is a bit further north than their regular bird survey work.
