Just a quick question is Phalaris ok to give to my gouldians I’ve heard its toxic?

Cattle wont touch it at the green stage and it's pretty useless as a green seed for finches. The seed is hard to extract from the seed head as with canary seed which is the same family.
As dry seed it very valuable just like canary but phalaris is more than triple the price of canary seed as they are both relatively high in oil.
If you can get it at the dry head stage, finches relish it in the cooler weather as a blood warmer and body fat stacking.
