Hi all.

Bird shown is a true genetic mutation IMO - has moulted and has plenty of direct sunlight and has maintained colour.

Rump area is dark blue/black (rather than the normal blue), has irridescent collar flecks, deep blue breast, intense yellow underneath with dark olive back.

He is a standout in direct sunlight (sorry for the poor pic).

If he had a hen with similar characteristics, what would be the outcome? Is he a useful bird for others who are intent on breeding mutations?

I would put him with the darkest hen you can find and see what comes of it.

could be a true dark factor,put him to a normal and wait for the outcome,good luck,garyh
