Hey everyone!
I brought a pair of red headed star finches home today. They were so excited to get out of their small holding cage and into the aviary, that they instantly started displaying and looking for a nest site.
We’re just about to start winter so I’m worried about letting them nest, but they’re so so keen!
What season does everyone else usually breed?

The breeding season for most Northern finches is now after the wet season. Let them breed but make sure that the aviary is draught proof and in a facing East/Northern position to catch most of the sunshine
Livefood is a must before and when young hatch and soaked or sprouted seed.
