Hi everyone,Hope you guys are having a great week.
My gouldian girl has been dropping poos the last few weeks that seem to contain a clear mucus like substance on her larger poos..and in doing so seems to be irritated by residue on her feathers...and is often trying to clean her back side even when she has very little residue around .....we was dosed with moxidenin plus 12 days ago and it was her last does off 3 doses that where spaced 21 days apart.....from each other....she is in good health and has never had any negative affects from moxy ....diet hasn't changed but thinking the time of year and she is starting to moult alittle ...so could be hormonal .nit sure so any help would be greatly appreciated ...thankyou so much.... :penguin: also some poos now seem to have little mucus..

Does she have a mate? Are they showing nesting behavior?
Hen's poos change consistencey/size a little when an egg is affecting the ability to pass them.
Don't know for sure if that is the cause, but it might be a contributing factor.

Hi 😃She doesn't have a male and she's seven years old as the runny poos are annoying her and the grunting is alittle worrying but she had her last dose of moxy 15 days ago..
it's more like a runny poos now than gel like as it could be the timing in the year but i'm not sure.....my baby's little bum gets alittle messy and she doesn't like it....so i was thinking of trimming afew little hairs around her back side but that may annoy her to....🤔🥺...thankyou for your time

Feather pruning is a good idea for birds with this problem.
My mother is a show budgie breeder and feather prunes a lot of her breeders rears round this time of year.

You do realise birds poo and urinate in the one motion. A sudden uptake in meds and water irritates the bowel movements. If I were you I would stop any medication in particular moxidecton plus it's not good for gouldians as they very rarely get intestinal worms.
Feed as normal but with out any green food for a week.

Thanks for that great information but it would seem her grunting gets worse when I hold her and due to stress I would think and some parts of the day and she has picked out hairs around her bum due to the mess and the mucus seems more runnier now so I’m not sure if I’m dealing with two different things or one thing.. she hasn’t had moxy since the 10 th of sep… maybe it’s this time of year but I haven’t seen it other times and the tail bobbing alittle is worrying… when I put my hear close to her I hear her almost playing with her mouth like she has excess fluids or something could she have a blockage in her nose or mouth.... she is pooing alittle less also… but seems fine… could be because she is so frustrated by her bum… animals are so stressful… no blood or anything weird in her poo that I can see..

The white is urates and the dark is poo. She is nearing her life span as well so it could be caused by old age. Stop giving medication and cut down on any liquid foods. There isn't much you can give her if she has an internal bacterial infection as antibiotics are very expensive for birds. You could try probiotics bought from a pet store. Fingers crossed for you.
