Hi and welcome,
I would not have a finch by itself get it a mate and you will get much enjoyment in watching them interact with one another. All my finches have a mate, some have had the same one for 5 years. With the nests if mine have babies after they have fledged I wash the nests and completley dry them and put them back. Give them some nesting material and they will line their nests themselves. Mine have a good finch mix, love corncob and leb cucmber, shellgrit, egg and biscuit mix ( sometimes mix a hardboiled eggyolk in), fresh grasses. Also don't know how big your cage is but they love a bath. If you are a beginner you will get hooked like the rest of us. ENJOY

DITTO and sadly yes they are good crappers , you will soon get over the sight of it and it wont bother you so much.
Accept that some days you are the pigeon, and some days you are the statue.

Finches like people are not by nature solitary and will get lonely and miserable if on their own for long. The friend you get it does not have to be a mate, can be same sex or other compatible type if you do not want to risk breeding.

Ditto above you can get the same sex partner. A finch is not like a budgie or parrot where it will interact with humans or will amuse them selves with toys etc. I personally would not keep a finch by itself, it will get very lonely and like other birds that are by themselves bored problems develop. Hopefully you will get a mate for him or her.

right so same sex is okay. COOL. um if i was to get a girl will it matter if the male was to young to even breed, the male is like 3 months old now and has its colours, i have read that if its to young it can affect the babies. i mean they are like rabbits in there so i wont be able to stop them.
