I knew those finch forum signs in the car would come in handy!
Birds have settled in just fine. Male Gouldians are calling to the hens already! Havnt let them see each other yet as I have certain pairs in mind and I dont want them making up their minds first
The quails are quite strong birds for the size of them, I was surprised when I was letting them go in the aviary how much force they can generate when they want to get away, and how fast they can move.
The grandkids are going to love them!
I set them up with either a plantpot on its side with straw or a woven bird house with straw all covered with brush. Also for another safe area for them.....
lets see if I can explain this....those fancy stone faced bricks that make walls, one of those laid on its side has a hole that a pair of quail would fit in nicely...well each pair has one of those to hide in as well on the opposite side of the aviary to the nesting area. At the moment they only sit near it, they dont go in it....after all that time I spent thinking of something for them to hide in too.
