Good to hear. Mother had 4 young gouldians leave the nest Friday, forgot to put them back in over night, but all OK Saturday.
So she remembered to put them in Saturday, don't want to tempt fate too much. Normal orange heads only this time.

Last week 4 masks fledged on the coldest day of the year. Still going strong. A couple of weeks ago WE masks and cubans, due to catch up and put in holding aviary. 10 alive and 1 dead, not a bad ratio. So far so good. But winter is not over yet.
Life in Port Macquarie is the ultimate Aussie sea change lifestyle.

Couldn't find the cock Scarlet Honeyeater this morning 
. I looked all over the floor, in the ajoining cage, shook all the bushes and still nothing. Thought it may have been covered up by the Black-Breasted Button-Quail, so I checked in behind the bushes in their for the quail and still nothing. As I turned around to go out, there he was sitting in the Bamboo about 18" off the ground just looking at me, then looking where I was rumaging around in the quails bushes, so I watched him for a while jumping from the Bamboo, back to the bushes. On closer inspection it looked like he was pushing out the walls of a nest 
, but it is too thick to see where he was, so all I can do is hope, although it is a little unusual for them to nest so low, they normally like to nest right at the top of the aviary about 6" from the roof.

Birds can be unusual , I have a way too large box nest that I have sat on the floor of the suspended aviary only bcos the birds like to sun themselves on top it rather on the wire ...anyhoo my yellow emblemas are nesting in it .

havent suffered any losses due to cold so far this winter (fingers crossed it stays this way.)
its been averaging between 0 & 5 degrees overnight lately.
birds are still breeding well, gouldians are behaving like zebras had 5 more fledge yesterday.
hope theres a market for them after the moult later this year.
masked, rfpf's, cubans & emblemas are all sitting.
