Hi All,

Some of the information in books and comments from some people suggest that mice can get into aviaries quite easily.
What are some of the tips to keeping mice and rats out? What are they likely to do to the birds besides eating seeds and food scraps?

Cheers now,
Darryl

Hi

As long as you are only interested in Finches, Use Mouse Wire, the mesh is 5mm square and they cant get through. Also ensure that no other Gaps are Greater than 5mm.

Concrete floors help too but dont allow for a planted aviary so if you have dirt floors Make sure you use a Rat wall 600mm deep into the Ground surrounding the perimeter.

You should also consider a Feed station that stops them from getting to the food and catches the waste.

Cheers
