Finch Clubs

Im a member of the Gawler and Districts Bird CLub, nice people, good communication and monthly meetings that are held at members homes.
They have an active schedule of trips to various places that would interest both the bird keepers and their partners.

Are they still active?

The Save the Gouldian open day at Mike Fidlers WILL NOT be held in 2010.
Instead there are a large number going to the Kimberleys for the Gouldian count.
I would say at a guess that it should be on in 2011.
In my opinion it is worth travelling a long way to take advantage of seeing a world class facility.
By next open day Mike could have built up his collection on the rarer non Aust. species as well
If you join the Hunter bird club it will keep you well informed as they work in closely with Mike.
The club also has some very good finch breeders as members and a good magazine called "Hunter Finch Fancier".

I attended this last year and it was Great, There is alot of Value going to this event and it far out ways the $25 cost.
