Hello and welcome.
I chose Gouldians as I like their nature and their bright colours.
I started out with 2 pair of gouldians just over 12 months ago. They were a pair of red and black heads. Initially I had both pairs in a small cage 900mm by 600mm by 450mm. Both pairs bred young in this cage with the reds rearing two sets of young and the Blacks one set of young.
I move all into a larger cage during Autumn, just before the cold weather set in and now I have 15 Gouldians.
The cage I now have is 3mtr long by 1.8mtr high by 1.8mt wide. One end is enclosed and I have lined that area to keep draughts out. The other end is open to the elements.
