Thats me pete, the diamonds are doing fine mate i now have 8 pair of fawn diamonds mated for this breeding season looking for good things to happen. How did you end up with yours?? Bloody small world this finch game.

yep small world,'diamonds there going well. lost one now have 5 birds. there all hens just got results back so my split fawn cock isnt a cock so its probably not split either. so got a bit of time i hope to swapp around and it all explains why i have nest with in fertile eggs...pete

sorry to say pete but you cant get split hens. The best breeding is a coloured male to a normal hen, you breed all coloured hens and all normal coloured birds will be spit males.

yep thats what i figured once i found it to be a hen.so the male i lost most probably was a true split and i will never know. pete
