Californian Quail

Does anyone keep Californian Quail ? Just after some info on what they are like to keep ie. diet , housing etc.
Accept that some days you are the pigeon, and some days you are the statue.

I know a friend of mine had them in an aviary 8 x 7m, sold them because they cause to much disturbance among finches & small parrots as they perch at night, and often are clumsy flying.
I really like them, so cute with the bobble up top :D

Yeah Jay surprised me to see even the girl had a head plume although smaller.

Very flighty, the worst of the quail for it too, but they are a lovelly bird, better off with larger parrots (conure& larger)& cockies.

Thanks for that as for eating quail .....I had it inflicted on me once some delicate little dish consisting of 2 quail and a very meagre salad .... quail disgusting and thankfully there was not much meat on them so I didnt have to suffer too much of it .
Let me tell you Im not a great lover of McDonalds but that day those golden arches looked like a slice of heaven to me.
