Could be, but no noises from birds to suggest something smelt them and acted accordingly. Also forgot to mention our beagle was on patrol (or she SHOULD have been, but even if she was sleeping she probably would've smelt a fox/cat)

I understand there is an owl in Queensland that makes that sort of noise. It's sometimes described as a woman's scream.
I knew it would happen, just not so soon.

Nope, that would be a Powerful Owl, one of their calls is exactly that. Very unsettling when camping to here a scream like some on is being attacked, but no one aroud for miles.
