Has anyone heard of or seen the Mountain Firetail finch(Oreostruthus fuliginosus) from New Guinea? I stumbled across a few references and then found the images at a good site the Internet Bird Collection - http://ibc.lynxeds.com/species/mountain ... uliginosus.

It would be interesting to see if anyone bred or kept these birds last century - Does anyone have access to the old RAOU (Birds Australia) journal Emu or the Royal Society journals? I'd bet it's as difficlt as the forest firetails in Australia. Unlike the latter it is supposedly common.
