I actually get into trouble for calling them shxt rats , my partner loves his ferrets . They do make great little pets and are not really like a rat at all , easy to look after since they sleep 20 hours a day . The wee Buzz will get a lot of enjoyment from his new mate .

What Deb said is correct, but there is another alternative as I have no intention of breeding her she will be de-sexed as soon as she is old enough.

good idea Buzz , this should make her all the better for a pet , seems I get bitten because she is so attached to her owner ( my partner ) .

I had a male ferret once - very affectionate but stunk to high heaven and stunk the whole house up! My girlfriend of the day told me it was her or the ferret so anyway...after SHE moved out lol I got deployed to Iraq a few weeks later so I had to sell it anyways...

The musky smell is quite nice most of the time , these ones here especially the boy reeks at the moment but they dont mind a bath , best way to give them a quick clean up is to put them on wet grass , they roll around and it makes them smell good for a while .
Worst smell comes from the food they bury under the bedding , they rarely eat raw meat straight away for some reason , they like it with a hint of e coli and a splash of salmonella vinaigrette.

Seems Ferrets and Jack Russells have more than just their love of rodent hunting in common. :puppy: My dog likes to bury her meat in the back garden and a week or 3 later dig it up and eat it on the back mat while the odor wafts into the office. And she can't figure out why the door gets shut in a big hurry. :puppy:
