Thanks SpineDaz I have the larger bird mesh for the pheasants but couldn't source small holed nylon. Where you have posts in the centre what do you have on top to support mesh without wearing through?

You sure have a huge space for your aviary...
That netting would probably work to protect fruit trees from the parrots that raid the trees in the garden, I dont mind that they eat the fruit, I just wish they would leave some unpecked for us!

Ha, to be honest Buzzard Im not 100% sure what it is I used at the top of the middle support. I think its from the top of an old grain silo. Its a smooth, lightweight aluminium dish. Very slippery. I dont think there will be any problem with the mesh wearing through. Yeah it took me a couple of years of searching before i discovered the Haverford site. I certainly couldnt find the small mesh locally.

Yep Diane, it would be perfect to protect fruit trees. I have the same problem with blackbirds pecking my nectarines. I have to cover them every year. I agree that I dont mind sharing a bit of fruit with the wild birds but the little mongrels seem to only want one or two pecks from every piece of fruit. Annoying.

Yes and would be even better if they recycled the fruit in someone elses yard ..... my back verandah looks like a avian crapper at the moment , its must be fun to poop on Debs back verandah.
