Basic Breeding Info:
Average Clutch Size: 4 - 8 eggs
Incubation Period: 14 days
Leave nest: 25 - 28 days
First Moult: Full adult colour is attained in approx 3 months

Sex:
Best way I have found is to put the birds into separate cages so they cannot see each other but can hear.
the male will start to sing before too long.
The song of the cock & hen is similar, best way to describe the difference is that the cocks song is like a digital recording whereas the hen sounds like a vinyl recording (for those of you old enough to remember vinyl).
Other ways can include that the head of the cock is squarer & wider than that of the hen.
Apparently they can also be sexed by the colouring of the tail feathers, males are black while the females are brownish.
